Stay Neutral: Part 2 | Fashion

Incorporating earth-toned colour clothing in your wardrobe is quite simple. If you're anything like me, you won't mind being completely covered in neutrals. I, together with a close friend and fellow blogger Firdous (see blog details below) put together a few outfits.
I had loads of fun putting together these looks, as well as shooting them with Firdaus. Our goal was to show off our individual styles, while still being fun.
Have fun recreating your own looks!

Stay Neutral: Part 1 | Fashion

If Chanel and Elie Saab can feature it on their runways, there's no reason it shouldn't be in your wardrobe.
Neutral tones have made an appearance and designers all around the globe are embracing the trend. From elegant evening wear to daring day wear, neutral tones can easily be worn. What's better, they bring out the best in everyone- regardless of complexion.
This week, I'll be posting a series of blog posts revolving around neutral and earth-toned clothing.
Stay tuned for more.

Let's waffle around | Lifestyle

Someone wise once said, "Every day should start with coffee and end with ice cream." And while that's a reasonably good way of living life, I believe combining the two in huge doses throughout the day is much more beneficial.

While I'm a huge fan of enjoying ice cream just the way it is, I enjoy it a million times more when it's topping a gorgeously golden waffle. I enjoy it even more, when it's accompanied by a decadent iced coffee. And being a kitchen lover, I often make them myself. Here is my recipe for home-made waffles.

Waffles:

Ingredients:
2 eggs (separated)
1/4 cup oil
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 and 3/4 cup milk
1 and 3/4 cup flour
4 teaspoons baking powder

Method:
Beat egg yolks. Add milk and oil. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Beat egg-whites until stiff and fold into mixture. Pour into waffle maker and wait until ready. Top completed waffles with dollops of ice cream and a syrup of your choice (optional).

Go ahead, enjoy a delicious homemade waffle with delectable dishings of ice cream and a dreamy iced coffee. After all, it's always ice-cream-o-clock somewhere!

Oh, and one last piece of advice- the only man you should ever chase, is the ice cream man!

Enjoy

Colour'Popping | Beauty

I'm a lipstick hoarder. Plain and simple. Give me any colour, any brand, any type and I'll take it with pleasure. From mattes to sheens to satins to glossy to lustrous, and basically anything in between, I have them all (my friends and family will easily testify to that). Recently however, my favourite type has been liquid lipsticks.
Probably the best thing about liquid lipsticks to me, is their ability to stay on for hours.
I've had the privilege of trying out the Colour Pop ultra matte lipsticks. These are not sold in stores in South Africa, but can be purchased online (I bought mines from Muse SA whose details will be listed below).
Colour Pop ultra matte lipsticks have become my best lipstick friend, and I find myself reaching for them more often than not. They dry super matte, last for hours on end and the colour selection is great! The colour can easily be built on and the selection to choose from is amazing! Below are a few of my favourite shades swatched!

Stack 'Em Up | Fashion

There's always been something ethereal and majestic about hand rings to me. I'll rarely leave my home without one. That's because I love the way they can complete an outfit and bring it to life, without ever being too much. Recently, I've been loving stacking up my rings and wearing multiple at a time. It's a trend that manages to look stylish, while being edgy.

Multiple rings can be bought in pre-packed sets (Mr Price has affordable and trendy ones), but you can also use different rings that you own and wear a few at a time. You can personalize this trend as much as you like by choosing how many rings you want, where you'd like to position them ...etc...

 Enjoy stacking!

Pizza Anyone? | Lifestyle

I believe that the only people you need in life are people who can eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and even dinner. I believe that pizza is 73% delicious and 27% more delicious. I believe that it’s okay to eat an entire pizza by yourself. Clearly, I love pizza.
And while I’d never turn down a bought pizza, I believe that there is some kind of sacredness in making one yourself. If you’ve ever taken the time to make a pizza, you’d understand the feeling of pure joy you get when you take that first bite. So today, I’d like to share two of my favourite homemade pizza recipes for anyone who loves it half as much as I do! They’re so simple, your 8 year old brother can make them! Enjoy!

Plain Old Margherita
Did I really type "Plain Old Margherita"? What I meant to type was "Delectable, Delicious and Divine Margherita". No matter how simple, this is one you just can't run from!
Ingredients:
Basic dough for your pizza base
Inna Parmans tomato and basil pasta sauce
Three of your favourite cheeses (I use gouda, mozzarella and tussers)
Method:
Simply roll out your dough in your desired shape (be as creative as you like). Spread over the sauce and toss on some cheese. The more cheese you add, the better the taste. Bake in a preheated oven (180°C is fine). Eat as if no one’s watching.

A-Little-Bit-Of-Everything-Straight-From-Heaven
The name pretty much says it all, no?
Ingredients:
Basic dough for your pizza base
Inna Parmans tomato and basil pasta sauce
Different Cheeses
Avocado's
Peppers
Tomatoes
Mushrooms
Diced chicken cubes
Salt
Fine red chillies
Nando's medium Peri-Peri sauce
Method:
Roll out your dough and spread over the sauce. Cook the diced chicken in salt, red chillies and Nando’s sauce (you don’t need any measurements, just toss in what you think works for you). Slice up your veggies- this doesn’t need to be neat and you can add any other veggies you like. All that’s left to do is layer! First the chicken, then the veggies and lastly the cheese. Bake at 180 and enjoy a slice of heaven!
