All about Endo | Lifestyle Let's have some serious girl talk- we all hate periods, most of us for the same reason- the awful and oh-so-dreaded pain. Gut-wrenching cramps often take over our lives for at least 8 days a month. Most of us (or at least some of us) can deal with the pain, but for many, it's just too much to deal with. And sometimes, that pain can be trying to tell you something. Endometriosis is a serious chronic disease caused by endometrial tissue of the womb growing outside the womb, often on pelvic organs. One of its most common symptoms is extreme pain around the time of your period. I was a period-pain sufferer my whole adult life. I, like most of you reading this, didn't even know something like endometriosis existed. And so, when I was diagnosed a few months ago, I made it my mission to spread the word to fellow pain-sufferers around the world. Endometriosis brings with it many complications- doctor visits, medications, laparoscopies, ultrasounds, more medications, intense pain, cysts and even more medications. That is why it is so important to be diagnosed as early as possible. If you, for even a second, think you might be a sufferer, have it checked out. A local GP or gynecologist can help. If you have recently been diagnosed and are feeling a little miserable and alone (don't worry, that's normal), send me an email and we can chat. Also, check out apps like "My Endometriosis" that can offer support and guidance. Good Luck! Xoxo Raeesa
